I just haven’t written anything here in a while. But we’re all still alive and growing. Even me! Growing Old.
So are these two! They can walk independently now and are just cruising along like the little toddlers they are. After a month or two of being “Tabies” I can say with confidence that they’re toddlers.
My weekdays with The Twins are history. A distant memory. I started a job a month ago and now our time is nights and weekends. And I do mean nights! Mercury in particular is keeping us up at night. Oh Mercury!
He’s a chatty little guy and tells us “No” a lot. But he also says “Wow” a lot, which I really like. They like to climb around on people and are big on sitting on laps and asking for stories.
Phoenix signs up a storm and arguably more “communication” than Mercury even though he says more “words” and does more “singing.”
She’s even come up with some signs that have a very clear meaning to her, but we don’t know what they mean. One of them I recently learned and I translate it to mean “I hate this!” She does it when she’s in pain or discomfort.
They run around with their chairs. They hang out with the Nanny and Grandma P and Trav. They eat salmon. They throw tantrums. They play games. They’re great little kids.
One of the happiest moments of my life in recent memory was when “Jump In The Line” by Harry Belafonte rolled around on Spotify and I was able to bounce Phoenix around up in the air just like Beetlejuice. She really liked it. It was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.
That’s all I got for now.
I’m off to enjoy my brief precious time before bed.
