TWO MONTHS OLD

Phoenix & Mercury are Two Months Old!!!! What a good baby! Ha ha ha ha ha. P & M have made a lot of changes in the past month. Both together and independently. In general they’re more alert and interactive. They Goo and Ga. They smile. They’re fine to sit on the quilt or in their bouncy chair for a period of time. They’re good little babies.

PHOENIX

Likes:

Kicking, Chatting, Feats of Physical Strength, Fist in the Air, Business Administration

Dislikes:
Rude Awakenings, Pain, Being Hungry

Phoenix has become quite the charmer in month 2. After spending much of month 1 as an aloof little wizard baby, she’s come around and decided to make friends. Just look at her smiling

She’s more likely than her brother to strike up a conversation and seems to take some pleasure from it. We love this development.

But friendly conversation isn’t her only mode. She’s still the queen of angry screaming.

It’s brutal and I doubt it will ever go away. When she’s mad, she lets you know. It’s great help for Daddy’s tinnitus

Speaking of Phoenix & Daddy, we’ve been spending a lot of our mornings together working in “the office.”

Phonix likes the baby carrier, fits well and falls asleep pretty easy. So often after the morning feeding I’ll saddle her up and we’ll go in the office to get some work done. I like to think she’s helping.

If she were to take an elective class it’d be a Phys Ed class for sure. She’s a kicking machine and spends much of her quilt time kicking. She’s good at lifting her head up and looking around during tummy time. She seems like she’s pretty close to rolling over? And she loves to raise her fist up in the air.

Power. Solidarity. Questions?

We love her lots and enjoy her company. The Phoenix.

MERCURY

LIKES:

Being Held, Cuddling, Compliments, The Bouncy Chair, Sound & Vision

DISLIKES:

Being Abandoned, Pain, Being Hungry

Mercury is sweet and sensitive. He likes being around his family and doesn’t like feeling left out or being in the crib by himself if he’s wakeful. Instead of practicing lifting his head during tummy time he’s more likely to fall asleep.

His cries are cute and sad, and he’s usually pretty easy to calm and comfort.

He’s a sweetie pie.

He’s a sensory lad and enjoys rocking and swaying and being in the bouncy chair. Which is great because I can put him there when I’m doing the dishes and such. I might put him in the chair right now in fact!

There we go.

He’s more likely to be delighted or frightened by sounds. Loud sounds startle him. He’s comforted by voices and he likes music. He digs the mobile and black and white picture books.

He’s a good baby.

That’s all for now folks! Mostly it’s just pictures right? Here’s one for the road.
