We’re almost there. In less than 24 hours, Tiff and I will have gone to the hospital and had our babies delivered. It’s still hard to believe and in this moment, quite scary. The mood has been very up and down over the past few days. We’ve been cooped up waiting for the time to pass. I vacillate between fear of all that can go wrong, positive excitement for the birth itself, and tender thoughts for our new life with The Twins.
The past month has been an unpleasant struggle of medical incapacitation:

It’s been thankfully tempered with an auspicious outpouring of support. Family coming over to do hours of chores, friends bringing us groceries, neighbors doing our laundry. If this is the kind of support we’re going to receive while we learn to care for The Twins, we’re in good hands.
But let’s back up a minute. Baby Blog?
Yes.
I’ve actually been blogging most of my life. Inspired by my Supercousin Lexi, I started a personal blog as a teenager to amuse myself and my friends. I kept it running from 1999 – 2006. It was an angelfire page and apart from a few special features it was all one gigantic block of text. I posted nearly every day. Probably had about 10 readers.
I rebooted it in 2008 on blogspot, had the same 10 readers and kept it going until 2017. The level of candor that was important to me to maintain became too difficult; for to me write and the readers to read. So in 2017 I made it private and now keep one only for myself.
In 2009 when my niece Laura was born, I set up a baby blog for Christie and Mike. They made excellent use of it and I had a ball reading it. It was called CBMB Baby Bonanaza!
It is in that spirit that I’ve started this blog. Not quite sure what form it will take, but stay tuned.
And thanks for reading.
Wish us luck!
